A crack in your stucco is easy to ignore until it is not. Some cracks are just surface lines. Others are a sign that water is getting in behind the wall. CMB Jersey Shore Stucco and EIFS Repair & Installation has handled stucco crack repair across New Jersey since 1985. We find out which kind you have, then fix it the right way.
Not all cracks are equal. Here are the common ones we see.
Hairline cracks are thin and shallow. They often come from normal settling or curing. Most are cosmetic, but they still let in water over time. Map cracks look like a web of fine lines across a section of wall. They usually point to a problem with how the stucco was mixed or applied. Diagonal cracks near windows and doors can mean the house has shifted. Those need a closer look. Wide or deep cracks are the ones to worry about. They can signal structural movement or water damage behind the finish.
Stucco cracks for a few reasons. The house settles. The wall goes through freeze and thaw each winter. The mix was off when it went on. Or water got in and worked the crack wider. On the Jersey Shore, salt air and storms speed all of this up.
A crack is small and cheap to fix at first. Left alone, it grows. Water gets in, freezes, and pushes the crack wider each winter. What starts as a quick stucco crack repair can turn into a patch, then a full panel, then water damage inside the wall. Early stucco crack repair is always the cheaper path. That is why we tell people not to wait.
First, we look at the crack and figure out the type. If we think water is involved, we test the area with a moisture meter. Then we clean out the crack and fill it with a flexible sealant that moves with the wall. For larger cracks, we patch in new material and float it flat. Last, we color match the repair so it lines up with the rest of the wall. You will not be able to pick out the spot when we are done.
A crack fix is part of our broader stucco repair work. If the crack let water in, we may also suggest stucco waterproofing to keep it from happening again.
Sometimes a crack is the first sign of a bigger issue. If we find soft spots, rot, or heavy moisture behind the wall, a patch will not cut it. That is when full remediation comes in. We will tell you straight if that is what you are looking at. No upselling, just the facts. Our stucco remediation page explains how that deeper work goes.
We repair stucco cracks on homes and commercial buildings across Monmouth County, Ocean County, and the wider Tri-State area. We also serve shore towns like Long Branch. Whether it is one hairline crack or a wall full of them, we can help.
Are hairline cracks in stucco a problem?
Small hairline cracks are often cosmetic, but they still let water in over time. It is worth sealing them before they grow. We can check yours and tell you if it is urgent.
How do you fix a stucco crack so it does not come back?
We use a flexible sealant that moves with the wall, and we fix the cause, not just the crack. If water is getting in, we deal with that too.
Do you repair cracks in EIFS walls?
Yes. Cracks in EIFS need their own approach. We seal them and check for moisture behind the finish. See our EIFS page for more.

Jersey Shore Stucco is amazing! I can not speak more highly of them. I’ve worked with other stucco repair companies in the past and it has been difficult at best. I desperately needed some maintenance done on a stucco wall surrounding our hose and decided to try these guys out. Wow! We could not be happier. High quality at an affordable price!

We purchased an older home and knew it was in need of stucco repair. During the first few months, we had a bunch of stucco contractors out to look at the job but none were sure we would end up with a result we were pleased without spending thousands! Jersey Shore Stucco was able to offer a very competitive price and started on the work right away. They matched the exterior paint to the rest of the house and a year later, you still can’t tell where the damage was! We would definitely recommend them, and plan to use them going forward for any stucco needs.

Jersey Shore Stucco was able to help with
repairs caused by a recent tropical storm. They came and inspected the damage and made me feel very comfortable that they could get the job done right. The craftsmanship was beautiful. It’s a perfect match and you can’t even tell where the damage was before.
