Professional Stucco Installation on the Jersey Shore

Whether you are building new or updating an older property, choosing the right stucco installation matters. A poor install leads to cracks, moisture problems, and expensive repairs down the road. Getting it done right from the start saves you time, money, and frustration.

CMB Jersey Shore Stucco and EIFS Repair & Installation has been handling stucco installations across New Jersey and New York since 1985. Over 40 years of hands-on work means our crew has seen just about every type of project — from single-family homes in Monmouth County to commercial buildings in Manhattan.

What Goes Into a Stucco Installation

Stucco is not just a finish coat slapped onto a wall. A proper installation is a multi-step process, and every layer matters.

It starts with surface preparation. The substrate — whether it is concrete block, wood frame, or masonry — needs to be clean, stable, and ready to receive the system. We install a weather-resistant barrier and metal lath to give the stucco something to grip. This step alone makes the difference between a wall that lasts 30 years and one that starts cracking in three.

From there, the work goes in three coats. The scratch coat bonds to the lath and creates a rough surface for the next layer to grab onto. The brown coat builds thickness and levels the wall so the final surface comes out flat and even. The finish coat is where you get the texture and color you want — and where the craftsmanship really shows.

Skip a step or rush through one, and you end up with cracking and moisture damage within a few years. We do not cut corners on any of them.

Hard Coat, EIFS, and Custom Finishes

Not every project calls for the same system. We install both traditional hard coat (cement-based) stucco and EIFS — Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems.

Hard coat stucco is tough. It handles impact well, stands up to coastal weather, and lasts for decades when installed correctly. It is the go-to choice for most residential projects along the Jersey Shore, where salt air and humidity are a constant factor. Homeowners in Ocean County and Monmouth County have been choosing hard coat for generations because it holds up to the environment better than most alternatives.

EIFS is a lighter system with built-in insulation. It works well on commercial buildings and larger projects where energy efficiency is a priority. The finish looks similar to traditional stucco, but the system underneath is completely different. EIFS uses rigid foam board bonded to the substrate, a reinforcing mesh layer, and a flexible finish coat on top.

We also do custom finishes — different textures, colors, and styles to match what you are looking for. Whether you want a smooth modern look or a more textured, traditional finish, we can match it. We do color matching on existing stucco too, so additions and repairs blend in with the original work.

Residential and Commercial Projects

Our installation work covers both sides. On the residential end, we work with homeowners throughout Ocean County, Monmouth County, and the broader Jersey Shore area. New construction, additions, garage builds, and full exterior renovations — we handle it all.

On the commercial side, we have installed stucco on warehouses, multi-family buildings, brownstones, and high-rises across the Tri-State area. Commercial jobs come with tighter schedules and more coordination with other trades. Our crew knows how to work within those constraints and deliver a clean result on time.

The scale changes, but the attention to detail stays the same.

Why the Installation Crew Matters

Stucco installation is skilled labor. The mix ratios, curing times, and application techniques all affect how the finished wall performs. A crew with experience knows how to adjust for weather conditions, substrate differences, and building geometry. They know when to slow down and when the conditions are right to push forward.

Rich Lapinski founded CMB in 1985 and has been personally involved in hundreds of installations across New Jersey and New York. That experience shows up in clean lines, consistent finishes, and walls that hold up year after year. When you hire CMB, you are getting a team that has already solved the problems most contractors are still learning from.
